Pauline says . . . . .
"Playing piano has been my
bliss since childhood and watercolor was a self-taught fascination after high school art classes.
I entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, New York in 1957 and celebrated my 50th Jubilee in 2007. I enjoyed thirty-three years as a music, art and life-science elementary educator in the Bronx, White Plains, Hicksville, Scarsdale, New York and St. Louis, Missouri,
where I was born.
'Will I paint today?' became a persistant inner question during the recovery from an auto accident in 1975. My second career as a full time artist began in 1991. I was drawing the figure and painting watercolor portraits in classes at St. Louis
Community College. At this time I created my Art Ministry. The photos of earth from space challenge me
to be creative about the forces of our solar planet, the energy of wind, water, and fire, the splendor
of our four seasons, and the phases of the moon.
When people share how
my art enriches them I experience the bliss of my second career.
Presently I am taking commissions for pencil and charcoal portraits drawn from a photo. It has been an astonishing eighteen
years.
